We couldn't do a better job than Bubion's official website to give you plenty of info about the location. But to summarize in one sentence: The area offers enough mountain hiking, horse-riding, and cycling for a lifetime.
We highly recommend a well-planned and comprehensive shop at Consum in Orgiva as early as possible during your visit. There is a small Coviran in the village where you can buy everyday essentials.
Bubion is one of three exquisite 'White Villages' on the mountainside. With Pampaneira a 20-minute hike down the valley, and Capileira 20 minutes up, both offer great chances to browse local ceramics, textiles, ice cream, crafts, food, and beer. Further afield, there are a few other gorgeous white villages. Salt in our Hair has a lovely page on these day trip options.
Thanks to quirks of geography, the region has a tropical microclimate. The Costa Tropical offers many opportunities for day trips. Here's a great site for additional info.
Home to the astonishing Alhambra and incredible shopping in artisan neighborhoods, Arabic architecture, boutiques, and the old silk market, Granada is a must-see city!
And Malaga is no slouch. The Picasso Museum, the Roman Theatre, the Malaga Pompidou, the cathedral, and the 11th-century Arabic Citadel make this town a cultural hub. Get lost in the old part of town. And when you need a rest, sit, have a beer, and watch the parrots in the orange trees.
